AKRON, Ohio — Summit County Public Health (SCPH) is investigating a confirmed case of COVID-19 at a senior living community in Akron.

A resident of Ohio Living Rockynol, a senior living community on West Market Street, tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently hospitalized in critical condition, according to SCPH.

Other residents, family and staff are being notified of the exposure and are taking appropriate measures, SCPH said.

SCPH is working closely with the senior living community to monitor with residents.

With reduced testing capabilities, SCPH urges Summit County residents to limit non-essential outing, echoing the Stay at Home order issued by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine Sunday that will go into effect Monday night.
