RITA extends tax filing deadline to July 15, 2020

CLEVELAND — The Regional Income Tax Authority (RITA) has extended the deadline for residents to file municipal income tax for the 2019 tax year until July 15, 2020.

The agency said estimated payments for the first and second quarters of tax year 2020 have also been extended to July 15, 2020.

The extended filing and payment dates apply to individual taxpayer filings and payments as well as business net profit filings and payments, but do not apply to employer withholding.

Residents do not have to request an extension. There will be no late filing or late payment penalties, or interest, will be imposed for the period of April 15 through July 15, 2020.
