Some folks have been grabbing paint, others need tools to clean out their clogged drains, but Gibson said what's really been flying off the shelves is the stuff for spring cleaning.

"I think they’re conscious about cleaning,” he said. "A lot of vacuum bags have gone out, people are changing their air filters and their heating and cooling system.”

Although lots of projects will be focused indoors, Gibson said a lot of folks people are buying things to get the outdoors ready for spring.

"The surge has been with being doing outdoor projects, getting ready for lawn and garden,” he said.

Gibson said no matter what you’re doing, make sure you do it right.

"If you’re not sure about what you’re doing ask."
