AKRON, Ohio — Vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, visited Northeast Ohio Thursday for an early voting rally.

Emhoff "encouraged Ohioans to make their voices heard by casting their ballots for the Biden-Harris ticket,” according to the Biden-Harris campaign.

Folks that attended the event said their right to vote this election was very important to them.

"I think it’s important to know everything that’s going on with our candidates. I’m a poll observer too and it’s been fun actually being able to see everybody get out there and vote," attendee Tania Nemer said. "I just love the law and I love politics so it’s just more of the interest in hearing what people have to say."

"I’m really here to help pass the message that our democracy is at stake. And for my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, we have to make a stand," attendee Hertistine Price said.
