Crews have broken ground on this year's "A Home for the Holidays" house.

The 2,400-square-foot, 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home will be raffled off to support Make-A-Wish and the Build Trades Foundation. The home is located in the Iris Place Development in Aurora and is being built by Simcon Homes.

Since it began, "A Home for the Holidays" has raised over $1 million and helped make more than 100 wishes come true for local children facing critical illnesses.

Tickets for a chance to win the home are $100 each.

“I cannot think of a better way to kick off National Skilled Trades Day than our groundbreaking of the annual Home for the Holidays event. This event helps fund both Make-A-Wish OKI & the Build Trades Foundation,” said Brenda Callaghan, executive director of Build Trades.
