Police identify suspect in fatal shooting of woman in Akron; man considered 'armed and dangerous'

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is looking for a man identified as a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 44-year-old woman Thursday night.

According to Akron police, the alleged shooter has been identified as Coley Richardson, 42, of Silvercrest Avenue. Richardson is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police have issued a warrant for Richardson's arrest on a murder charge.

On Thursday at around 8:00 p.m., 44-year-old Nickole S. Coleman was sitting in the front passenger seat of a car in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue in Akron when she was shot in the head.

Coleman was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center where she died from her injuries at 9:41 p.m.
