AKRON, Ohio — Authorities in Akron are investigating after a 60-year-old man was found shot multiple times in Akron Thursday night, according to a release from the medical examiner.
Police responded at about 6 p.m. to shots fired at a residence in the 400 block of Zahn Drive.
Officers found the man, later identified as Emanuel McMillan, in his apartment with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
McMillan was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:38 p.m.
A suspect has not been identified, but witnesses reported hearing the gun shots and seeing a short, thin black male wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and jeans running from the apartments towards Thurmont Street, according to police.
