An Akron couple have been arrested after police say they stole nearly $600,000 from a 77-year-old.

Kevin Story, a 42-year-old man from Akron, and Crystal Hennacy, a 41-year-old woman also from Akron, were arrested and charged with Theft from the Elderly, a felony, on Friday. Police say the couple have been swindling the elderly woman for nearly a year.

Adult Protective Services were alerted to the exploitation in August. Authorities say the pair had access to her bank account and were using the money to buy a house, several vehicles, including a motorcycle, and multiple guns.

Both Story and Hennacy have been booked into Summit County Jail. Police say additional charges are pending an investigation.
