An Akron firefighter is on paid administrative leave after allegedly shooting a man during an argument last week.
Enrique Green was charged with felonious assault. He has been a firefighter with the city for six years.
Green was visiting a friend at a home on the 700 block of McKinley Avenue when the woman's ex-boyfriend showed up, police said.
The two men started arguing and the ex-boyfriend tried to throw a brick at the firefighter. Green — who has a concealed carry license — pulled out a gun and shot the man in the shoulder, according to authorities.
The injured man drove himself to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released.
Green is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.
