Akron man facing federal charges for allegedly distributing fentanyl that caused fatal overdose

AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man is facing federal charges for allegedly distributing fentanyl that resulted in an overdose of an Akron woman, according to a release from Justin Herdman, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.

Quentin Watson, 34, of Akron, was charged with distribution of fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking charge.

It is alleged that on June 24, Quentin distributed fentanyl to an Akron woman who later died from a fatal overdose. On Oct. 24, police stopped Quentin in a vehicle which prompted a search, resulting in fentanyl, methamphetamine and a 9 mm pistol being seized from the vehicle.

The case was investigated by the Akron Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
