AKRON, Ohio — A demonstration is scheduled to happen Saturday in Akron as residents gather to protest the death of George Floyd and police brutality.

The event is scheduled to start around noon outside the Summit County Court of Common Pleas near Church and S. High streets.

Event organizers are calling for the protest to be peaceful, saying that no violence, vandalism, rioting or looting will be tolerated.

“I want to use my platform and voice to help Americans realize the treachery we are allowing officers to get away with, while I understand this does not mean all officers are bad it also goes to show not all ‘suspects’ are criminals and police are not the judge, jury or executioners,” event organizer King Vee said on the event’s Facebook page.
