The Bridgestone Invitational is partnering up with LeBron James to help kids explore the world of golf.
Tournament officials at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational announced Tuesday the partnership with the LeBron James Family Foundation.
“The World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational is honored to support the LeBron James Family Foundation,” said Don Padgett Executive Director of the Bridgestone Invitational. “Bridgestone is committed to helping make the communities where they work, better places to live. We’re proud to align the Bridgestone Invitational with an organization with the same values to make a lasting impact in Northeast Ohio.”
A portion of the invitational's charity proceeds will go toward educational activities as part of the partnership. Children from the LeBron James Family Foundation will also get to attend the invitational's media day at Quicken Loans Arena, as well as the tournament.
“We are extremely excited and thankful for the opportunities this partnership with The Bridgestone Invitational will provide for our kids,” said Michele Campbell, executive director of the LeBron James Family Foundation. “Exposing our students to the exclusive experiences that will be supported through this partnership is paramount to our efforts to help them find and pursue their passions in life. We look forward to playing a role in making this one of Akron’s premier events this year.”
