Canton firefighters battled flames at a vacant home in the 1400 block Maddrell Court NE around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The fire broke out on Shriver Avenue NE where two homes had recently been torn down. Using the vacant lots along Shriver Avenue for access, firefighters were able to bring the flames under control in about 30 minutes.
Fallen power lines caused problems for firefighters when they fell near the burning home and were sparking in the vacant lot.
Arson investigators were at the scene looking in to a cause.
