A father and son have been charged following a months-long drug trafficking investigation conducted by the Canton police vice unit.

Authorities charged 48-year-old Ephraim Risten with having weapons under disability and possession of methamphetamine. His son, 24-year-old Anthony Risten, was charged on a warrant issued out of Summit County.

Around 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 13, police raided a home on 1218 Lawn Ave. The raid was the culmination of an investigation that was started months ago when police were tipped off by a citizen about drug activity at the house.

Authorities recovered 22 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, multiple firearms and ammunition from the house.

Police said more charges could follow.

Anyone with information regarding criminal activity at the house or other locations is asked to contact the vice unit at 330-649-5929 or by texting the word CANTON followed by a tip to the number 847411. Tips are anonymous.
