CANTON, Ohio — The Stark County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a Canton man, who was intoxicated at a bowling alley, allegedly shot his friend in the foot late Friday night, according to a release from the Stark County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities responded at about 11:24 p.m. Friday to Strike Zone bowling alley, 1222 Whipple Avenue Northwest, for a shooting.
At the bowling alley, deputies revealed Spencer Andrew Webler-Norman, 23, of Canton, was attempting to adjust his holstered weapon when it discharged, striking his friend.
Norman's friend was shot in the foot and was transported to Mercy Hospital with not life threatening injuries, the release states.
Norman, who has a valid concealed carry license, was found by deputies to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the shooting, deputies said.
Norman was arrested at the bowling alley and charged with one count each of the following:
- Negligent assault
- Tampering with evidence
- Illegal possession of a firearm in a liquor establishment
- Using weapons while intoxicated
- Discharge of a firearm on or near a prohibited premises
The Stark County Jail said Norman bonded out at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Stark County Sheriff's Office.
