CANTON, Ohio — A 35-year-old man has been charged with a misdemeanor after he allegedly refused to show a Walmart greeter his receipt when leaving the store and then struggled with police officers.
The man, a resident of Canton, was charged with resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor.
According to a Canton police report, the man “refused to show a door greeter a receipt for unbagged items in his shopping cart.”
Following the interaction with the employee, a police officer approached the man to ask for a receipt. The report states that the man threatened the officer and “struggled” with authorities when he was eventually placed under arrest.
The man has a pre-trial hearing scheduled on April 24 at 9 a.m. according to court records.
