Three ramps to Akron's Central Interchange were expected to close overnight but they're open this morning after a hiccup in planning delayed construction.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, road closure signs were not put in place by the time roads were scheduled to close overnight.
A spokesperson with ODOT said he doesn't know why the signs were not put in place and they have a meeting scheduled with the contractor Wednesday to find out what happened.
While all of that gets figured out, the ramp from I-77 northbound to I-76 westbound and the ramp from State Route 8 southbound to I-76 westbound are open.
The ramp from I-76 east to I-77 south will not close Wednesday night as expected.
The ramps were set to shut down as part of a multi-year project to remove old bridges, making way to eventually widen the interstate.
ODOT officials say have worked with the contractor responsible before.
