Police are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in Akron early Monday.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. on the entrance ramp to State Route 224 and Interstate 277 at South Main Street.
Akron police said Randall Seaver, 58, had struck a deer while driving on the entrance ramp. He stopped his SUV and got out of the vehicle to pull the deer to the side of the road.
While he was pulling the deer, he was hit by a Jeep Liberty driving eastbound on the ramp.
Seaver was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges have been filed. The crash is under investigation.
