AKRON, Ohio — Signet Jewelers is asking its more than 2,000 Akron employees and others in Texas for voluntary buyouts, according to New 5's media partners at the Akron Beacon Journal.
The voluntary buyouts come as Signet is working to transform its business.
Signet did not say how many employees it hopes will take the buyouts, but there could be layoffs if not enough volunteer.
The company has about 3,500 stores. Its brands include Kay, Jared, Zales, Piercing Pagoda, JamesAllen.com and others.
