AKRON, Ohio — A 15-year-old Akron boy was arrested Friday evening for allegedly stabbing a man who was attacking his mother, according to an Akron police report.
A 35-year-old woman told police that 45-year-old Christopher Curry, the father of her 1-year-old, came to her home on Lakeshore Boulevard, struck her in the face, choked her and tackled her to the ground.
The woman’s 15-year-old son then grabbed a knife and stabbed Curry in the back, the report states. Curry then pointed a handgun at the teen.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the report states.
Officers arrested the teen and charged him with felonious assault. Officers signed a domestic violence warrant for Curry.
Police spokesman Lt. Rick Edwards told the Akron Beacon Journal that the police legal advisor with the Akron prosecutor’s office advised officers to charge the teen.
