UNIONTOWN, Ohio — A ninth grader at Green High School held her fifth annual donation drive, helping the homeless community in place of celebrating her birthday.

Bella Rink started Bella’s Blessing Bags for the Homeless five years ago in place of having a birthday party, hoping to give back to a community in need.

The 15-year-old has given to several different locations over the past five years and this year was the second time donating to the Akron Snow Angels, an organization that serves the homeless community.

Bella dropped off about 2,500 items to Akron Snow Angels including socks, hats, gloves and coats.

“I didn’t know what I wanted for my birthday and I realized I had everything I really needed and I noticed that a lot of people weren’t as lucky as me so I started this just to help some people out,” Bella said.
