AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron has issued a safety advisory for students and faculty Wednesday after an armed robbery occurred off campus the night before, according to Alex Knisely, of the University of Akron.
The robbery took place at about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday night in the 300 block of Sumner Street.
Residents inside the apartment told police that three people with a handgun forced their way into the apartment and took an iPhone, a wallet containing miscellaneous giftcards worth $100 and one of the resident’s driver’s license and an Xbox.
Police have not made any arrests in connection to the robbery.
