1 dead, 3 injured after crash on West 117th Street

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a fatal crash.

The accident happened in the 3400 block of West 117th Street around 3 a.m.

A 2014 Hyundai was traveling northbound on West 117th Street passing Governor avenue speeding, according to police.

The vehicle was reportedly driving with its headlights off.

A 2009 Chevrolet was traveling southbound on West 117th Street and began to turn left into a driveway.

The Hyundai hit the Chevrolet, according to police.

The Hyundai continued driving North off the right side of the road and hit a wooden utility pole.

A 19-year-old woman and a 35-year-old woman were transported to Metro Hospital in critical condition.

A 22-year-old man was transported to Metro Hospital in serious condition.

A 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unknown if alcohol played a role in the crash.
