CLEVELAND — The teen who was shot and killed at an abandoned apartment in Cleveland's Mount Pleasant neighborhood on Labor Day has been identified by the Cuyahoga Medical Examiner’s Office as 14-year-old Shon Glass.

Cleveland police confirmed a 15-year-old was arrested in connection to his death.

In the afternoon on Labor Day, police were called to an abandoned apartment building in the 12600 block of Gay Avenue. Police immediately began to administer aid to Glass, who was taken to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Preliminary information revealed that Glass and the 15-year-old boy who was later arrested were seen in the abandoned apartment when shots were heard. Shortly after, an unknown male was seen running from the side of the apartment complex.

The homicide unit started their investigation with this information that led them to arrest the 15-year-old.

News 5 is not naming the arrested 15-year-old boy at this time because he is a minor.

The homicide remains under investigation.
