CLEVELAND — U.S. Marshals have arrested a man who is accused of killing another man during a dice game.

Nijil Bulger, 21, was shot and killed last month at an abandoned property in the 7800 block of New York Avenue.

Witnesses said there were people playing what appeared to be dice on the property and shots were fired, police said.

Bulger was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A warrant was issued by Cleveland police for Abdul Lakes, 19, on June 12, and the case was turned over to the US Marshals' Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for investigation into Lakes' whereabouts on June 19. Officers gathered information that Lakes may be staying with family on Cleveland's West Side.

U.S. Marshals arrested Lakes in the 3500 block of West 129th Street on Wednesday morning for homicide.

"Violence committed by young members of our society has been on the increase and our task force will remain committed to keeping the community safe from such violence," stated U.S. Marshal Peter Elliott.
