CLEVELAND — Two people were injured during a crash involving a military vehicle on Interstate 480 Saturday evening.
Around 7 p.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol received calls about a multi-vehicle crash that occurred in the westbound lanes of I-480 near State Road in Cleveland.
Once on scene, troopers discovered four vehicles that had been involved in the crash.
A United States Marine Corps Reserve Humvee was traveling west on I-480 in the right middle lane when it was struck from behind by a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, troopers said.
A 2020 Kia Sorrento and a 2010 Ford Escape both tried to avoid the crash but failed to do so, according to troopers.
The driver of the equinox was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance. Impairment was not suspected, troopers said.
The driver of the Equinox, as well as the driver of the Sorrento, had minor injuries as a result of the crash and were treated on scene.
