CLEVELAND — A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the homicide of a 48-year-old man on Super Bowl Sunday in East Cleveland, according to the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Rodney Williams, 26, was arrested Friday after he was found hiding inside a home in Cleveland.

The U.S. Marshals office said Williams and the victim were together on Super Bowl Sunday inside an apartment on Terrace Road.

At some point during the evening, the victim and Williams returned to the victim’s apartment in the same building. Williams allegedly left alone and was identified as a suspect after East Cleveland police conducted a welfare check on the victim who was found dead inside the apartment on Feb. 9.

On Friday, police discovered Williams was hiding somewhere inside a home in the 900 block of Paxton Avenue in Cleveland.

K-9 officer Rocky eventually located and bit Williams. He was taken into custody after he was evaluated by Cleveland EMS.
