CLEVELAND — A man who was fatally shot early Monday morning in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood has been identified.
The man has been identified as Jayme Smith, 29, of Cleveland, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.
Cleveland police say that officers responded to the 3600 block of East 59th Street shortly after 2 a.m. Monday for a shooting and found Smith laying on the ground when they arrived.
Smith had been shot in the chest, authorities said.
He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center and later pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made. The matter remains under investigation.
