A 31-year-old man is dead after he was found shot in a crashed car in Cleveland Tuesday evening.
Cleveland police were called to the 900 block of Thornhill Avenue around 8:40 p.m. for a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived they found Maurio Ayers with a gunshot wound to the chest, inside a car that had crashed into the Historic Greater Friendship Baptist Church.
Ayers was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police found another victim at the Thornhill Avenue address. The 38-year-old man had a gunshot wound to the foot. He told police he was standing on his porch when Ayers stopped by.
He said Ayers was sitting in his car when three unknown suspects pulled up in a dark vehicle and started shooting.
Ayers drove a short distance before crashing his car into the church.
The suspects have not been identified.
