4 injured after crash involving ambulance in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a crash involving an ambulance.

According to police, the crash happened around noon on East 55th Street at Carnegie Avenue. A 19-year-old man driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee failed to stop at a red light and hit a Nissan Rogue.

After the crash, the jeep then hit an ambulance stopped at the red light, police said.

The 19-year-old was transported to University Hospitals with facial injuries, a police spokesperson said. A 19-year-old man was transported to University Hospital with a broken finger. A 20-year-old man was transported to University Hospital with leg pain.

Police said the 55-year-old woman who was driving the Nissan was taken to University Hospitals with injuries to her collar bone.

The two EMS workers inside of the ambulance were not injured.
