CLEVELAND — A 49-year-old man was shot and killed in Cleveland early Sunday morning, according to Cleveland police.
Around 12:15 a.m., officers were called to the area of East 97th Street and Elwell Avenue for reports of a male shot.
Once on scene, officers found a 49-year-old man, later identified as Bobby Campbell, in a field with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest, police said.
Campbell was transported to University Hospitals where he was pronounced dead.
Officers learned on the scene that the man was parked in a vehicle in the 2800 block of Woodhill Road prior to the shooting. Witnesses told officers they heard shots but no one reported witnessing the actual shooting.
No arrests have been made at this time.
