Police Officer Valarie Thompson was arrested for obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence, according to Chief of Cleveland Police Calvin D. Williams.
Officials said Thompson, 50, was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred while she was off-duty and working at a second job.
Thompson was hired in 1994, Cleveland police reported, and was most recently assigned to the property unit. She was suspended from duty, without pay, pending adjudication of the criminal matter.
