CLEVELAND — A firefighter with the Cleveland Fire Department was injured while battling a fire in Cleveland’s Puritas-Longmead neighborhood Tuesday.
Crews were battling a fire that broke out at a home on Bennington Avenue when one of the firefighters was struck in the head, according to authorities.
The firefighter did not lose consciousness but was taken to MetroHealth Hospital in stable condition, EMS said.
The house was occupied at the time of the fire, but crews were able to get all of the residents out safely before extinguishing the flames, according to Cleveland fire.
The cause and origin of the fire are unknown but both are currently under investigation.
