CLEVELAND — Just when it seems the days and weeks blend together, a special week, dedicated to the versatile, always-delicious food we call pizza jolts us back to reality to remind us to embrace what’s in our own backyard.
After the first Cleveland Pizza Week in 2019, the second annual week-long pizza celebration has returned.
For seven days of bliss, Clevelanders have the once-in-a-year opportunity to visit more than a dozen pizza joints offering $8 pizzas.
The week-long event runs until Nov. 15. The event is open to all ages, with some locations having a 21 or older restriction.
Hungry Clevelanders can pick up passports at participating restaurants that will guide them into a food coma. Earn four stamps and you will be entered to win over $250 in gift cards.
To add fun to flavor, the Ohio City Pizzeria is hosting a special celebrity challenge, where local celebrities create their own pizza and name their creations for a chance to earn the title of 2020 champion and have their creation added to the menu.
Ideastream’s Mike McIntyre will try to defend his title against Cleveland councilman Matt Zone, Cavs mascot Sir CC, local comedian Mary Santora and Urban Community School president Tom Gill.
