Cleveland police investigate multiple shootings that happened Thursday, Friday

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Police Department is investigating multiple shootings that happened Thursday and Friday morning.

The first shooting happened around 11:45 a.m. Thursday in the 12300 block of Phillips Avenue in the city’s Forrest Hills neighborhood, police said. A 29-year-old man was shot in the leg. He was transported to University Hospitals for treatment.

The next shooting happened around 3:26 p.m. in the 6500 block of Woodland Avenue in the city’s Central neighborhood, police said. The victim, a 19-year-old man, was shot in the thigh. He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.

The third shooting happened just before midnight Thursday near Buckeye Road and South Moreland Avenue in the city’s Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood, police said. A man, age unknown, was shot in the leg. He was dropped off at a nearby hospital by a private car.

Friday morning around 5:15 a.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in the foot in the 6200 block of Gertrude Avenue in the city’s Broadway-Slavic Village neighborhood, police said. He was transported to a MetroHealth Medical Center by Cleveland EMS.

The shootings remain under investigation. No further information was provided.
