CPD: Woman stabbed dad, brother with BBQ fork

Posted

A woman is confined at University Hospital for psychiatric evaluation after police say she stabbed her brother and father with a barbeque fork Saturday night.

According to Cleveland police, 40-year-old Rochelle Carey stabbed her 70-year-old dad and 31-year-old brother after she became angry that two 13-year-old family members were spending the night at the East 117th Street home where all three live.

Police said it all started when she sprayed the teenagers with household cleaner.

When her dad tried to stop her, she allegedly stabbed him in the ear with the barbeque fork.

Then, when Carey's brother intervened, he was cut by the fork on his arms and hands.

The woman's father sprayed her with mace to get her under control.

Carey's father was transported to University Hospital for treatment and later released. Her brother refused treatment.

Carey was taken to UH for psychiatric evaluation. She is facing charges of felonious assault and domestic violence.
