CLEVELAND — Sheldon Lovejoy, the licensed Cleveland social worker indicted in January on two felony counts of sexual battery for allegedly abusing one of his patients, was indicted today on new, similar charges.

Court documents show Lovejoy was indicted Thursday on charges of attempted rape, gross sexual imposition and kidnapping with sexual motivation — all felonies.

Investigators say the new charges stem from a September 2009 incident in which Lovejoy is accused of kidnapping a woman, attempting to have sex with her, threatening her and grabbing her breasts.

Authorities say the alleged victim came forward after learning of Lovejoy’s January indictment on News 5.

Investigators say they are still searching for more victims, and are asking anyone with information regarding this case to call the Cuyahoga Regional Human Trafficking Task Force at 216-443-6085.
