Deputies, police respond to disturbance at Juvenile Justice Detention Center Monday night

The Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office and Cleveland police responded to reports of a disturbance at the Juvenile Justice Detention Center Monday night.

The situation, which involved 12 juveniles, has been stabilized. No juveniles escaped during the incident, according to Cuyahoga County officials. All have been accounted for.

According to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, Unit 4 at the detention center was vandalized by some of the residents. A television was broken, as well as panes of glass within Housing Unit 4.

Five of the juveniles involved have been taken to the Justice Center and will be kept separate from the adults there. Seven remain at the Juvenile Justice Center, but are separate from the rest of the juveniles.

EMS was also on scene. One juvenile was treated for cuts and oe sheriff deputy was taken to MetroHealth for minor cuts.
