Driver killed in crash involving recycling truck

One driver is dead after a rush hour crash involving a Rumpke recycling truck. Cleveland police say a 27-year-old man died in the crash on I-90. 

According to Rumpke, a vehicle struck a broken down Rumpke truck along eastbound I-90 between  98th Street and 41st Street. The Rumpke driver was not injured in the incident.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the 27-year-old as Chris Ballash, of Strongsville.

Rumpke issued a statement Friday evening saying in part:

“Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in today’s accident. We are cooperating fully with the police and we will conduct a complete investigation. We appreciate the quick response of the emergency teams, and are working quickly as possible to clear the roadway."
