Driver who hit 3 people claims she lost control of car after friend replaced brakes

The driver who hit three people on Saturday night told police that she was test driving her car after a friend replaced the brakes when she lost control.

The crash happened at 11:30 p.m.

A 50-year-old woman was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition. A 47-year-old woman and a 6-month-old boy were transported to MetroHealth with minor injuries, according to police. 

The driver’s vehicle was found on West 112th Street.

According to the police report, the 34-year-old driver told investigators she was test driving her car after a friend replaced the brakes, then she lost control and slammed into the people and car in their driveway.

Police said the driver has not been arrested at this time. The facts of the case will be presented to the city prosecutor, and the driver could be charged at a later date.
