Authorities are searching for four men who escaped from a community corrections facility in Cleveland.

The number of men to walk out of the McDonnell Center and never come back is soaring.

Low-level nonviolent offenders are allowed to leave for preapproved trips such as job interviews, doctor visits, and substance abuse support group meetings.

So far this year 24 have escaped. In 2017, only four people escaped.

The 200-bed facility located near I-77 and I-490 provides access to the community after a short period of confinement.

The program is designed to last four to six months and help reduce the prison population.
