A gunman is on the loose after he robbed a used car dealership in Cleveland and shot at one of the customers.
"When he walked in, I really thought it was the end of my life," said Scott Mast, manager at Delta Auto Wholesale.
The incident happened Saturday at about 5:15 p.m. Security camera footage shows a masked man with a gun walking into Delta Auto Wholesale on West 117th. The two men inside put up their hands.
He rummages through the drawers where Mast is sitting.
“I was begging with him, telling him, pleading with him," added Mast. "I said you have all of the money.”
Mast said he believes the man was once a customer as he knew where the money was kept. He also knew the placement of the security camera and yanked its cord shortly after he rushed inside.
"I believe he staked out this place very well," he said.
Mast said the gunman got away with nearly $6,000. Footage shows he ran out as soon as the customer inside ran out for his safety. That's when Mast said the man fired shots at the customer and missed.
"From him [the customer] jumping up and running out, I believe he saved both of our lives," he said.
Mast said the gunman drove away.
The owner of Delta Auto Wholesale is offering a $25,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the armed robber. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Cleveland Police.
