Two teens walking their normal route through a Parma field stumbled across human bones Tuesday afternoon and now police are pouring through missing persons cases to try to identify the remains.
Reporter Homa Bash was told by officials that the remains were skeletal and they may have been in the area for some time. The age and gender still need to be determined.
A 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl found the remains lying on a mattress in the area. At first, they thought the bones were fake, so they picked them up and took photos on Snapchat.
After a closer look, they realized the remains were real and called police.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene and took custody of the remains in order to determine identity.
LIVE NOW: Reporter Homa Bash is at the scene in Parma where human remains were found behind a Toys "R" Us.
