The City of Cleveland held a press conference at noon Monday to discuss the recent indictments in the homicide case of 5-month-old Aavielle Wakefield.

Davon Holmes, 19, was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Cleveland Police Department for the homicide, which occurred at East 145th Street and Spear Avenue on Oct. 1. Holmes was arrested on Nov. 27.

Lawrence Hilliard was also arrested in connection with this case, wanted by Cleveland police for tampering with evidence. He was arrested in the same location as where the shooting took place.

According to the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas indictment, Holmes was charged with aggravated murder, murder, four counts of attempted murder, four counts of felonious assault, discharge of firearm on or near prohibited premises, and improperly discharging into habitation. Hilliard was charged with one count of tampering with evidence.

Cleveland police do not believe Holmes and Hilliard have any sort of relationship.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty said Crime Stopper dollars are available for this case.

On Oct. 1, Wakefield was shot in the chest while she sat in her car seat, next to her sister. Wakefield's mother and another family member were in the car with her as well.
