CLEVELAND — Marlon Brown runs Legoheadz Barber Saloon LLC. His shop has been buzzing about the damage and destruction left behind by Hurricane Dorian. Days ago, when the storm’s path remained unknown, Brown and his clients wondered what they could do to help.

“If you’re not helping the community that you’re eating off of, what are you doing,” said Brown.

Brown said the conversation galvanized clients to give. He’s collected clothes, food and toiletries. The supplies have begun to stack up along a wall in his shop.

“I don’t think I would have the compassion that I have now, if I had no need for compassion from somebody else at some point and time in my life,” said Brown. “I’ve been homeless, I’ve been out here with absolutely nothing. I’ve slept in my car, I’ve slept in empty apartment buildings.”

Brown’s concerned about transporting the supplies to whoever needs them since he doesn’t have proper transportation for the loads of gifts he’s received.

Brown is hoping to soon connect with someone who can help him get the gifts to people who need them.

If you'd like to donate, Brown is encouraging you to bring donations to his shop at 4764 Broadview Rd, Cleveland, OH 44109.
