CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Fire rescued a man found clinging to a retaining wall along the Cuyahoga River at Whiskey Island Wednesday.
A rescue squad responded to Salt Road at around 2 a.m. for a man who had walked onto the ice of the river.
Cleveland Fire Department Lt. Mike Norman said when rescuers arrived, the man was up to his knees in water, clinging to the retaining wall.
Rescuers put a harness around the victim to pull him to safety. The man refused treatment.
