Authorities have identified the man who was fatally shot outside a Cleveland bar over Labor Day weekend and sought help at the Fifth District police station.
The victim was identified as 33-year-old Dennis L. Edwards, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.
Police said Edwards and a friend were talking outside the Dog Pound Lounge, 18416 St. Clair Ave., shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 3 when an unknown person in what appeared to be a silver car opened fire on them.
Edwards' friend, who was not injured, drove him to the police station for help. Officers administered first aid until EMS arrived. Edwards was taken to University Hospital but was later pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made. The incident remains under investigation.
