A 44-year-old man was shot and killed Monday night during an apparent robbery at a Cleveland market.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Marwan Zahriyeh of North Olmsted.
Zahriyeh was approached by another man who pointed a gun and demanded money inside of the KwickFood Mart located in at 3646 East 116th Street, according to the Cleveland police department.
The shooting occurred at 6:51 p.m.
Zahriyeh tried to slap the gun out of the man's hand when he was shot in the chest. The shooter ran away from the scene.
Officers attempted to render first aid to Zahriyeh. He was taken to University Hospital, where he later died.
No arrests have been made.
The shooting is under investigation.
