CLEVELAND — More than 350 boxes of assorted produce were distributed to people in need in Cleveland Friday morning just in time for the Christmas holiday.

Meritech Inc. partnered with Hunger Network to distribute more than 350 boxes of produce from Perfectly Imperfect Produce, a subscription-based food delivery service that rescues imperfect and surplus fruits and vegetables from local farms and wholesalers.

Hunger Network CEO Julie M. Johnson said the distribution comes at a perfect time as fresh produce is difficult to access for the communities the organization serves.

“Many families are facing hunger for the first time due to the pandemic, and the holiday season can add extra hardships,” says Johnson. “Our generous partners like Meritech have proven that together, we can meet the increased need.”

Those in need were able to pick up fresh produce while remaining safe in the drive-thru distribution line.
