CLEVELAND — The mother of 10-year-old boy who police say is suspected of shooting a toddler last week was arraigned Friday morning in court.

Brittney Nicole McTier, 31, has been charged with obstruction and endangering children.

Authorities issued a warrant for her arrest following the shooting of a 1-year-old child child in the 14200 block of Rexwood Avenue on Saturday. McTier turned herself in on Wednesday, according to Cleveland police.

When police arrived, they found 1-year-old Isaiah Martin with a gunshot wound. The child was transported to a nearby hospital and later died.

Authorities say the incident is believed to be an accidental shooting. The 10-year-old has not been charged with a crime, police said.

According to Cleveland Municipal Court records, McTier’s case has been bound over to a grand jury.

McTier has been released from custody and placed into a court-supervised release program, according to court records.
